Tower Path
Difficulty Rating: Easy
Length: 1.6 miles

The best way to experience winter at Sleeping Giant State Park is with a hike up the tower path. This trail is the most popular at the park and the safest in the winter months. It is wide with an even surface and never too steep. As you begin the your ascent on the tower path, you will hit the switch back turns that make up the first half of the tower path. Next comes a long winding section that takes you higher and higher. As you near the end of the trail, the tower finally comes into view. This observation tower is 4 stories and made of large stone blocks. From the tower on a clear day, the Long Island Sound and New Haven are clearly visible.
